Also, Kevin O'Conner from The Ringer has LA taking Robert Woodard from Miss St at #28.
Just a brief look at his highlight package tells you exactly how much he would fit into the Lakers rotation like a glove...

Woodard has a Jae Crowder type feel. Pretty much the same size. Athletic. 3pt range. Active on defense. Seems like an ideal combo forward in today's NBA.
Personally I'd like to see the Lakers try and find the next Malcolm Brogdon, a prospect I wanted in that 2016 draft - when the Lakers went Zubac. Spent 4 years at Virginia and was NBA-ready. 3pt range. Passing. Defense. Positional versatility. He looked like a solid NBA role player but potential for more but teams just seem to let guys who play 4 years in college slide because they'd rather have the intrigue of "upside" and go for a Malachi Richardson or Wade Baldwin. Obviously getting a guy who ends up being as good in the NBA as Brogdon at #28 (or #36 where he actually went) is a rarity but that's the type of player I want. Great shooting is obviously always a need, especially on a team with Lebron/AD, and I'm not going to poo-poo trying to find the next Joe Harris. I am just trying to also consider the post-Lebron era as well.

So a strange thing I noticed regarding LA is that CBS Sports, NBC Sports and The Ringer all have the same guy pegged at #28 right now...
Malachi Flynn, PG, SDSU.
From watching some video and reading some articles, he seems to be a pretty good playmaker and shot creator. He's absolutely fearless while shooting. Could definitely crack the guard rotation, especially if Rondo leaves for greener pastures.
Not sure about his defense, but individual PG defense is overrated in the NBA and doubly so for an LA team who does such complex work with team defense, whether its doubles, switches, tagging, lock and trailing...nobody (not even LBJ and AD) ever really gets left on an island to defend.

Apparently MIN is offer Culver and #17 to multiple teams to try and move up in the draft - ex: #6 with ATL MIN just used #6 last year on Culver and he had a fairly decent rookie season (9.2ppg 3.4rpg 1.7apg 0.9spg 0.6bpg in 23.9mpg) but with Russell, Okogie, potentially resigning Beasley and potentially drafting LaMelo - and a couple other young wings, the backcourt is stocked and he's expendable if they really like someone in that mid-lottery range. Perhaps they too like Patrick Williams since Hernangomez is a FA.

Cavs targeting Avdija or Toppin
Assuming the team doesn't make any drastic changes - i.e. trading Love or breaking up the Sexton/Garland backcourt - and they pick up the low cost options they have, then the former makes the most sense. The team seems to like Drummond, they want to bring back Tristan, they have Larry Nance under contract and they have yet to trade Love for some inexplicable reason, so for now the frontcourt seems OK. Yeah the team signed Osman to a long term deal but it's not an overly expensive deal and he hasn't exactly broken out beyond being a good role player. He has more of a good bench player feel to him. Avdija presents the versatility, playmaking an upside this team needs.

Maybe I'll take a stab on it Wednesday morning.
And then laugh at how badly I got it wrong, especially when some completely random team moves into the Top 7 - Boston? Minnesota to double dip? Orlando? San Antonio? - and shakes it up entirely.

Lakers and Thunder have agreement in principle on deal to send Dennis Schroder to Los Angeles, and No. 28 pick in Wednesday's Draft to OKC, sources tell @theathleticnba @stadium.
Sources say the deal includes Danny Green heading to OKC as well. Lakers can't complete deal till after the draft since they owe their 2021 first rounder to New Orleans (protected).

High 2nd rounder for 5 spots. Either they think it's a team in front of them that wants their guy or they may move up again.

The Morons "keep searching for trade pathways" to get into the top three. They have around 10 hours left to find one, per @thesteinline
They want Wiseman I imagine

Interior defense is a huge problem for them and Onyeka wouldn't take the ball out of Tatum and Brown's hands as much, since he'll primarily be a PnR lob threat initially. Or maybe they want that LaMelo life, lol.

High 2nd rounder for 5 spots. Either they think it's a team in front of them that wants their guy or they may move up again.
From what I've read, they got 23 thinking packaging that with 8 would be a more attractive offer to move up again.

Yep... The Cavs and Knicks have discussed trading the No. 5 pick for 8 and 23, but the Cavs are holding out for more, sources told @theathleticnba. For reference, the Pelicans and Hawks swapped 4 for 8, 17 and 35, among other pieces, in a draft-day deal last year.

Fairly certain this draft order will get blown up quickly as trades come down but I'm sure my utter lack of knowledge of these prospects already assures maximum incorrectness:
1. Minnesota Timberwolves - Edwards 2. Golden State Warriors - Wiseman 3. Charlotte Hornets - Ball 4. Chicago Bulls - Patrick Williams 5. Cleveland Cavaliers - Avdija 6. Atlanta Hawks - Haliburton 7. Detroit Pistons - Hayes 8. New York Knicks - Toppin 9. Washington Wizards - Achiuwa 10. Phoenix Suns - Aaron Nesmith
11. San Antonio Spurs - Bey 12. Sacramento Kings - Vassell 13. New Orleans Pelicans - Maxey 14. Boston Morons - Onyeka Okongwu 15. Orlando Magic - Okoro 16. Detroit Pistons - Jalen Smith 17. Minnesota Timberwolves - Pksuveski 18. Dallas Mavericks - Josh Green 19. Brooklyn Nets - Theo Maledon 20. Miami Heat - Cole Anthony 21. Philadelphia 76ers - RJ Hampton 22. Denver Nuggets - Kira Lewis Jr. 23. New York Knicks - Isaiah Stewart 24. New Orleans Pelicans- Jaden McDaniels 25. Oklahoma City Thunder - Tyrell Terry 26. Boston Morons - Leandro Bolmaro 27. Utah Jazz - Tyler Bey 28. Oklahoma City Thunder - Paul Reed 29. Toronto Raptors - Nico Mannion 30. Boston Morons - Abdoulaye N'Dyoe
Frankly I don't know what I was doing.

I had Toppin sliding to NY. Great pick for them.
Woj hd Avdija to WAS at #9. A steal at that pick and gives them a nice piece next to Wall, Beal, Rua.

Hope we start Dennis Smith Jr, RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox, Obie Toppin, and Mitchell Robinson. I like RJ at SF however. Hoping we can pick up a SG in the draft.
