LaVine: "I just want my respect, that’s the main thing. I outplayed my contract. I’ve been very loyal to Chicago. I like Chicago. I just want my respect. If that’s now or later, it’s something we’ve got to work out internally.”
The guy still has one year left on his deal and he can cash in next season as a FA at age 27. Apparently though that's not good enough as apparently he wants the Bulls to use their cap space to renegotiate his salary next season, which also allows them to offer a larger extension.
Again, I don't begrudge players wanting to get paid and I don't disagree he has outplayed his contract but at the same time, LaVine has ZERO playoff appearances and the Bulls have a great opportunity to use their cap space this summer to, I don't know, improve the team perhaps and accomplish that goal.
Not to mention LaVine has missed 58, 19, 5 and 14 games in his 4 seasons with the Bulls. If players want to badger teams about outplaying their contracts, then teams should be able to go back and badger them about paying them for not playing games. Honor your contract. Get paid next summer. Try and win some games now. You get respect by leading your team to victories, not by the size of your contract.

Batum is on the radar of the Blazers. For as well as he played with the Clips, he's hardly a game changer BUT he would bring defense, size/length and it'd be a fun reunion since he was in Portland from 2008 to 2015 and did spend a couple of those years with Dame/CJ.
Mavs are among teams interested in Schroder. Along with the Knicks. As far as I'm concerned, you guys can have him.
Millsap interested in GSW. He'd definitely make a ton of sense with his experience, toughness and 3pt range.

Stephen Curry, I’m told, will soon be agreeing to a four-year, $215 million extension with the Warriors.

The Kings are said to be preparing an offer in the $50 million range to bring back in-demand center Richaun Holmes – with Holmes said to be seeking bigger numbers.
$50 means it would be a 3 year deal? Yea..I'd look elsewhere.

Via HR: "The Knicks are widely believed to be a frontrunner to sign Evan Fournier, perhaps for a three-year deal worth about $18MM annually, Fischer reports. Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel are also strong candidates to re-sign with New York for deals worth about $10MM per year, Fischer adds."
I really hope that for having a crapload of cap space and all the rumors that have been bandied around that the Knicks offseason doesn't start off spending around 35+M of it on Fournier, Burks and Noel

Via Stein: "Dallas, I'm told, is expected to reach agreement to re-sign Tim Hardaway Jr. early in free agency. Hardaway and Boban Marjanovic are two Mavs free agents they were determined to retain and sources say they will. "
Obviously a hit to their cap space, so we'll see what other moves they manage to squeeze in because just running mostly the same team back won't really get it done.

Vars, as a CHI fan, you think this elevates Ball's fantasy status? I'm deciding between him, MPJ and Collins in a dynasty draft and I'm 3 picks away.

Yeah but I wonder will it be a slow start for him. I can see Lonzo's numbers just 2nd half but that first half may be rough. I'd still take him over the other 2.

Yeah I didn't care for Perk doing the draft. That guy just rambled the same names way too early, namely Day'Ron Sharpe as early as the lottery.
Jarrett Allen back with Cavs for 5 years 100M

Olynyk to Detroit. So they trade Plumlee just to spend 3 years 37M on Olynyk?
Will Barton stays with Denver for 2 years 32M, likewise for JaMychal Green for 2 years 17M
Burks and Noel stays with NYK for 3 years 62M combined. Ha. ok.

I don't know what's worst:
Allen for 5 years/100 million
or Jimmy Butler 4 years/184 million. 46 million a year for Jimmy Butler? That's going to come back and haunt them.
I think I answered my own question though.

Yup. It's Butler. By a mile.
Allen's contract is a bit much but that team needs to retain their talent and at least with Evan Mobley being on his rookie contract for 4 years, they have some cost certainty in that intriguing young frontcourt.

McConnell back to Ind for 4 years 32.5M. Guess it's fair value since he's going to play a lot when Brogdon gets injured and Aaron Holiday traded to Washington.
Also signed Torrey Craig to 2 years 10M.

If that's the case, then I don't want anything to do with Lonzo from a fantasy standpoint if he is in a lineup with LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic.

CP3 - 4 years 120M
Old people getting paid between CP3 (4 years), Conley (3 years 72.5M) and Lowry (3 years 90M).
And Cam Payne back to PHX for 3 years 19M - so at least they have insurance for old man Paul.

Dougy McBuckets 3 years 42M to Spurs
Between their draft additions and this, clearly this is a team that prioritized shooting.

Mavs sign Sterling Brown to 2 year 6.2M deal He averaged 8.2ppg 4.4rpg 42.3 3fg% last season for Houston
Good player but bringing back THJ/Boban and signing Brown is hardly the offseason that would catapult this team to the next level with Luka.
