I mean, he's 52. Bound to happen to the best of us.
Not all of us are going to look like Rob Lowe or Vin Diesel in our 50's haha
(Although my hope is to look like them - at the least Lowe, then again that might mean I have to do Atkins. Gross)

random..since you mentioned Vin, did you watch Black Adam? I followed the Rock and saw he posted today about not being inthe next Chapter of DC..then read some of the comments about how the movie sucked. and saw where it didn't hit the box office that big. Then with Superman making a cameo...and he's no longer Superman anymore or whatever..I dunno I don't do the Comics series movies. I've watched a few here and there.

Black Adam hit HBO Max this past weekend. I did watch it. It was terrible - a couple of the action sequences were cool and I thought Brosnan's take on Dr Fate was solid. Superman did make a cameo. This was before James Gunn took over DC and decided to reboot nearly the entire DC Universe, so unfortunately that cameo is worthless - and why they also removed cameos in the upcoming Flash movie.
I've watched probably every major DC movie and certainly all within the "Snyderverse". For the most part the movies ranged from eh to pretty good. The only atrocity was Wonder Woman 1984. Probably bottom 5 for me. Ever.
What's crazy is with all the news with Gunn, the "old" universe still has Shazam 2, Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 coming out next season. Kind of makes for an awkward transition.

It's not great to me but I didn't think it was terrible. If anything compared to the other Rock moves, I thought it was one of HIS best.
That said everything that has happened since with DC kinda spoils everything else. My son was excited to see Superman and the idea that may be a "battle." Now it's just a movie that can and will fade away.

I mean, it's a wasted opportunity to have a movie with Black Adam, Shazam and Superman in it and fwiw I liked The Rock, Levi and Cavill portraying all 3. Not really that excited about Gunn going with a "young Superman". Guess it depends how young. Is it Tom Holland as Spiderman-type young? If so, oh boy. Might as well just make a Smallville movie.

Via HR: "Some people in the Lakers‘ organization are “very intrigued” by Knicks wing Cam Reddish, according to Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times. They view him as a youthful reclamation project, which the team has had some success with in the past couple seasons (Malik Monk and Lonnie Walker). Sources tell Woike that the Knicks are looking for a protected first-rounder for the 23-year-old"
Obviously the Lakers won't give up a 1st for Reddish but with Reddish being a FA and the Knicks clearly not intending to bring him back, they could just take what they can get. I could see something closer to the trade deadline involving Nunn + 2nd rd pick for Reddish.

Via HR: "The Mavericks haven’t made Christian Wood available in trade talks, but according to Haynes, some rival teams think that might change soon"
That's interesting. The guy is averaging 17.2ppg 8.1rpg 38.7% on threes and is far and away their best frontcourt player. Wood must really really really be terrible on defense for the Mavs to trade him - and apparently that might be the case given they insist on bringing him off the bench and starting DFS/Powell instead.
If I'm Luka, I'm like WTF guys. Whether it's DeAndre Jordan, Porzingis, Bertans and now Wood, they just can't seem to get Luka the right frontcourt complement. Maybe this is the team that seems most logical for John Collins.

Via lakers daily: "Report: Lakers giving ‘serious consideration’ to riding out season with current roster"
Shouldn't surprise anyone. Seemed to be their plan all along.
This year will be about letting Lebron stat chase and just riding out the remainder of Russ' contract.
Then go into 2023 offseason with "max cap space" to go sign Kyrie to try and delude the fanbase that a Big 3 of a 39 year old Lebron in his 21st season, a 31 year old Street Clothes with five straight injury plagued seasons and a 32 year old Kyrie with all the stuff that goes on there actually has a shot at the 2024 title.
When in reality the team is probably thinking hardcore reset in 2024 or 2025 when Lebron, AD and hopefully Kyrie are off the books (dependent on options/moves), massive cap space and they are free from 1st rd pick debt.

Who you got for MVP right now?
Tatum 31.1ppg 8.1rpg 4.1apg 1.2spg 0.9bpg 47.7fg% 35.7 3fg% 86.7ft% Morons: 25-10, 1st in East
Giannis 31.7ppg 11.6rpg 5.2apg 0.9spg 0.9bpg 53fg% 24.4 3fg% 64.4ft% Bucks: 22-12, 3rd in East
Luka 33.6ppg 8.7rpg 8.8apg 1.7spg 0.6bpg 50.6fg% 35.5 3fg% 74.1ft% Mavs: 19-16, 7th in West
Joker 25.7ppg 10.8rpg 9.4apg 1.5spg 0.6bpg 61.9fg% 32.4 3fg% 80.6ft% Nugs: 22-12, 2nd in West
The rumblings about a potential 3-peat for Joker are hard to ignore. Guy is averaging dang near a triple double - which frankly isn't as impressive as it should be given Russ has done it 4X now. That said, Russ' seasons feel a tad watered down given his teams finished 4th, 6th, 6th, 8th in the conference those seasons and most feel he ballhogged his way to those stats (including finishing 1st or 2nd in turnovers all four years ranging from 4.5 to 5.4 a game). To Joker's credit, he's at 3.5 and many will feel his stats are more within the confines of the offense and not "ball hogging". He's also doing so without a really good #2 - like Russ had with PG3/Beal in 3 of those 4 seasons - as Murray is still working his way back and no one will confuse Aaron Gordon or MPJ as that right now. If he can carry the Nuggets to a top 2 finish in the West, I mean hard to argue against him.
Having said that I'd vote Tatum. Guy is beasting on both ends of the court.

Tatum has earned his due Luka needs some more damn help, can't believe Cuban keeps sitting on the same retread roster. He's gave some bad contracts..but players don't seem to wanna go there either. I wouldn't wanna play with Luka dribbling the ball for 20 seconds 95% of the possessions.

Jokic is gonna have voter fatigue. Giannis as well. I think Luka get his those year I hate that you're right, because I'd give it to Joker again. He's putting up numbers, when you factor in some of the more analytical stats, that we haven't seen since mid-80s Bird (who won 3 straight MVPs) and absolutely can get Denver to a 1 or 2 seed in an uneven West. Mainly, I hate the "voter fatigue" narrative because then we go back in 15-20 years and say, "How the hell did Barkley/Malone win MVPs when MJ was dominating??" THAT is why.

My criticism of Joker winning last year was team success (or lack thereof). Despite his numbers, I didn't think keeping his team afloat as a 6th seed was good enough. So it would hypocritical of me to say he shouldn't win it this year if the Nuggets stay on pace this year as the #1-#2 seed in conference.
That said it wouldn't shock me if doesn't get it due to voter fatigue which is even more hilarious. At this point I think Tatum is a very strong candidate if the Morons can maintain that success.

I do wonder how reticent voters would be about giving it to Joker a 3rd year in a row.The only players to do that are Russell, Wilt, Bird. That'd be extremely rarified air. Not even Kareem, MJ, Lebron, Magic had that. Granted Kareem won 5 in 7 years, Magic won 3 in 4 years, Lebron won 4 in 5 years, and MJ should have won in 1997 to nail down three in a row.
Obviously Joker's individual statline is wild but so are that of the other guys. The deeper metrics though show how dominant and impactful Joker is right now: He's 1st in win shares per 48 minutes, 1st in PER, 1st in overall box plus/minus, 2nd in Value over replacement.
That said, using my personal view of what "valuable" means, I'd vote Tatum AND Luka over Joker.
Similar to how I valued how much Joker carried the Nuggets last season, hard to not spin that same logic towards Luka this season. His 2nd best player is either Wood or Dinwiddie. He'd KILL to have a Jaylen Brown or Kyrie or the depth of the Bucks/Nuggets.

Nate McMillan has strongly considered stepping down as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks this season, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.
McMillan's job has been considered safe and the Hawks have wanted him to finish out the sideline. But McMillan appears at the end of his tenure with the Hawks after the season unless he steps down.
No resignation from McMillan is imminent.
The Hawks have a 17-18 record and have had issues with Trae Young and John Collins.
---------------------------------------------------------
More than likely if it doesn't happen in-season, it sounds like it will happen post-season. But the immediate name I think that comes up is Ime Udoka. Since it looks like the Morons will allow him to move on, I can see the Hawks wanting him for their young team.
McMillan took over as Hawks head coach in 2021 after the firing of Lloyd Pierce and had immediate success.

To be honest I wonder what coach wouldn't have problems with Trae.
He's puny, sucks on defense, looks like he has an attitude problem a lot of the time. Now he's shooting poorly (41.4% overall, 31.6% on threes). Very talented but kind of overrated in my book.
They also badly need to trade Collins. He is just wildly wasted there. Word is the Wizards, Nets, Jazz and Mavs are interested.
Honestly a Kuzma (+ contract) for Collins type-deal kind of makes sense. WAS avoids Kuz's free agency, gets Collins who is locked up for at least two more seasons and frankly Collins can actually play C, making Porzingis a more ideal PF option. For ATL, Kuzma fits right in there at PF next to Capela and his scoring gives them another top flight option for Trae/Murray

News came out that Lakers wouldn't trade the expirings of PatBev/Nunn + 1st rd pick for Bogdanovic because it's "too much".
Made for fun discussion at the gym.
Cons
He's old at 33 He's under contract beyond this season costing 2023 cap space He's "just" a shooter He would cost a 1st rd pick, which the Lakers covet He might not make enough of an impact to make the Lakers a contender this season or beyond
Pros:
He is averaging 21ppg and 41.6% on threes this season and would be a significant addition to the Lakers. He is under contract for 20M next season and 19M in 2024-2025 with just 2M guaranteed - which isn't a long term deal and fits the contract timeline of Lebron/AD.
The Lakers rank 28th in 3PM and 24th in 3FG% and badly need a "shooter"
Lebron/AD are old, so Bogdanovic being old shouldn't be relevant since it's a win-now move.
For as crap as the Lakers have been, the West is wide open. Only 5 teams are above .500. A strong run with Bogdanovic is possible. A 1st rd pick is traded like candy these days, it's an overrated asset
Do I think the Lakers should do this move? Honestly, no.
Do i think this price for Bogdanovic is "too much" though? Also, no.
The me of 6 months ago would absolutely do this deal to capitalize on the shrinking window of Lebron/AD.
The me of now is not nearly that invested in said window because I don't trust their ability to stay healthy. Plus I actually do buy the wild idea that Lebron could force a trade this summer.

We've kind of been talking more so on a discord channel.
But yeah, the Westbrook trade was huge.
Masterful stroke by Pelinka. He got 3 solid players, none of them are old, none have guaranteed salary beyond this season, protected the 2027 pick (which was invaluable when you consider the Nash trade) and didn't give up the 2029 pick. Big time moves.
