Sixers also own another 2023 2nd round pick from either the Nets, Hawks or Hornets (whichever is the most favorable for them). Probably isn't worth it for House and Tucker but with Daryl Morey as your VP, that franchise will find a way to get another 2nd if they want it.

At this point with teams dealing with harsh luxury tax hits, I can see a number of teams more than happy to sell 2nd rd picks in 2023 or 2024 for cash.
So yeah, on the surface, a contender like Philly losing 2nd rd picks isn't a big deal but I was just disagreeing with those who said it's no deal. They are still solid assets, especially for a team with a bloated payroll and a bunch of FAs this summer (Thybulle, Niang, Milton, Reed and potentially Harrell, House).

Bogdanovic signs a 2 year 39M extension with Detroit but only 2M is guaranteed for 2024-2025. He remains trade eligible even with this deal, so this does make him a more attractive trade chip because teams wouldn't be acquiring an impending free agent.
Also the Lakers won and celebrated in the locker room as if they won the title. I guess Pat "Play-in winner" Bev really is rubbing off on this team.

That's gotta be a precedent firing a coach after a win.
I thought Nash was in over his head anyway but considering with what he had to deal with the last season and this, this should be a relief.

Nash was always a weird hire to begin with given his lack of experience and being thrust into that situation.
What I find more strange in all this is the Nets apparently turning to Udoka.
As if that team needs any more distractions.

Think it's not too early to label Killian Hayes a bust, and the Pistons just move on
Looks like they are lottery bound again as well

Think it's not too early to label Killian Hayes a bust, and the Pistons just move on Looks like they are lottery bound again as well With Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham as their future backcourt, he was likely odd man out anyway. 6-5 kid with talent. Probably can make a decent career overseas. As far as the Pistons, I imagine the Dwane Casey era is close to ending. He's 65 years old with only 1 year left on his deal so my guess is Detroit makes a change. I actually thought Ime Udoka would've been a good fit next year for both parties but now that option looks to be off the table.

As a recent #7 pick, absolute bust.
He is a viable NBA talent who can be a nice guard off the bench with his size, passing, defense though. Could carve out a decent career.
Better off than Jarrett Culver at least. Or Kevin Knox.

Zhaire White.
White was pick #16 in 2018 Troy Brown was pick 15 and Lonnie Walker was pick 18. Welcome to the Lakers.
Brunson, Graham, Mitchell Robinson, Gary Trent, Bruce Brown, Vanderbilt, Diallo, Melton, Milton were 2nd rd picks. Solid 2nd round class.

HA. My brain literally thought about Zamir White, Raiders rookie RB who hasn't done jack this year.

I've said a handful of times, if the Sixers weren't so terrible at drafting - whether it's their fault due to bad picks OR injuries - they would be so much better off now.
Okafor. Bust. Noel. Bust. Fultz. Holy hell this was a bust.
Smith. Bust.
MCW. Wasn't a bust at first but then ehhhhh
Saric. Ehhhh
Really their "process" only worked because of Simmons and Embiid - and those guys were sketchy as well due to injuries - and then their other moves like getting Butler, Harris, Josh Richardson, Redick, Seth Curry, Covington etc. Hey remember when they had Al Horford too? Good times.
At least they found a stud in Maxey.

Okafor being a bust just illustrates how bad that 2015 draft class was. Out of 60 selections, only 4 players have made the AS Game (Towns, Russell, Booker and Porzingis) and only 2 players have made an All-NBA team (Towns, Booker). In hindsight, they probably could've grabbed Booker and that a different looking team. Or even Myles Turner, Terry Rozier, Tyus Jones or Bobby Portis are better options.
Nerlens Noel - Bad again. Even adding insult to injury, they traded Jrue Holiday for that pick.
Fultz stings the most because the guy he's traded for is Jayson Tatum. Have to imagine the Sixers are an entirely different team with Embiid and Tatum as their cornerstones.

Gave up that #3 pick that became Tatum AND an eventual lottery pick (#14 in 2019) for the right to draft Fultz. So gross.
What's funny is this isn't even the worst trade the Fultz pick was involved in because only reason Boston even had this pick was the ill-fated Nets trade for KG/Pierce.
Plus in the Sixers' defense, they did manage to trade Fultz to ORL for some value. They got the the 1st rd pick that eventually became Maxey and a 2nd rd pick that they used to move for Thybulle, so pretty solid recovery all things considered.

I had to think about it and then eventually remembered he was salary dumped and then it hit me it was Detroit.
Detroit could be a pretty compelling team going forward
Solid young talent with Cade, Ivey, Bey, Duren, Beef Stew, Bagley
Very tradeable veteran with Bogdanovic and maybe even Hayes
Realistically looking at another high draft pick
Big time cap space if they waive all their team options
Detroit and Houston, if managed properly, can be legitimately good in 2 or 3 years with their young talent + future flexibility.

Congrats Lakers on the W
All it took was a miracle three by some dude named Matt Ryan, playing at home, OT and the opponent missing Ingram and Herb Jones.
But hey, Russ had a great game off the bench (if you ignore the 6 turnovers anyways)

So she'll make bank and Primo will be playing for the Shanghai Sharks.Eerie enough she isn't suing for monetary damages. She's suing for principle and change in the organization. They are also expecting a criminal compliant to be filed against Primo for the allegations. So this is more about her response to being silenced and ignored by the Spurs organization. Primo's lawyer has denied it. But Primo has already released a statement before saying he needs to work on his mental health so it's clearly some issue here. My guess is the Spurs will deny they ignored her claims and hide behind saying they needed to launch an "investigation" first before releasing Primo.

Primo's response to the psychologist's claims that this was due to a wardrobe malfunction because he laid down in basketball shorts is laughably pathetic. I get Primo had a rough childhood with some trauma and don't want to make light of that reality and why he went to the psychologist in the first place BUT c'mon. Primo's lawyers must be working overtime to try and create some scenario where a need for empathy and misunderstandings explain the situation.
Plus I'm sure the psychologist had to have some paper trail of raising this to the Spurs organization, in turn giving her credence to sue the franchise for lack of action. Plus she's a Doctor and works for the Spurs, so I highly highly highly doubt she is lying to try and capitalize financially. Especially when you factor in these claims are coming from multiple women, not just her.

NEWS: Hornets restricted free agent Miles Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court and will face three years of probation and no jail time as part of a deal with prosecutors via ESPN. During his three-year probation, Bridges, 24, will have to undergo 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and 52 weeks of parenting classes, serve 100 hours of community service, and undergo weekly narcotics testing with marijuana allowed only if there is a valid doctor's prescription. He cannot own any guns or ammunition or any dangerous weapons. He also will have to pay a restitution fine of $300 and a domestic violence fine of $500, and obey the terms of a 10-year protective order, staying 100 yards away from and having no contact with the woman. Bridges and the woman maintain custody over their two children, and any visitation or exchange of children must be done peacefully and through a neutral third party.
Bridges' attorney declined comment. The DA's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
At the moment, Bridges remains unsigned, but, if he were to sign with a team, the NBA, under the collective bargaining agreement, has the right to suspend, fine, dismiss or disqualify him from any further association from the league because he pleaded no contest. ----------------------------------
It will be interesting to see what the Hornets do here. I imagine the NBA will wait until he signed before enforcing a suspension.
$500 fine for domestic violence... What a joke.

The fine is a joke for sure but frankly so is the whole punishment in general. Having said that, I'm too perturbed by the BS punishment given to Brett Reid to really focus too much on Bridges. The NBA should enact a punishment of their own because in this era, allow him to just hop right back in and start balling is an awful look.
As for Harden....he's a Sixer. of course he gets hurt.
