For non-fantasy related news
The Raiders and center Rodney Hudson have agreed to a long-term contract extension for three-year, $33.75MM extension that will make him the NFL’s highest-paid center
The 49ers will place Jerick McKinnon on injured reserve, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
The Dolphins’ quarterback controversy is over…for now. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the club’s Week 1 starter, head coach Brian Flores announced.

Via RW: "According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Ezekiel Elliott wants to be the league's highest-paid running back."
Yeah we kind of figured that when he was offered the 2nd highest contract and turned it down.

The Buffalo Bills will release veteran running back LeSean McCoy, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fantasy wise was going to pick up Gore (he's still there) but I passed...I see in typical fashion EE had the one up with Singletary

Panthers release WR Torrey Smith
Eagles signed QB Kyle Lauletta to their practice squad. Hewas waived by the Giants Bengals claimed RB Samaje Perine off waivers from the Redskins. He could be useful given the injury to Anderson Browns claimed TE Ricky Seals-Jones off waivers from the Cardinals. He was a decent fantasy player for a bit before. Redskins claimed RB Wendell Smallwood off waivers from the Eagles. Pure RB depth since they have AP, Thompson, Guice. Lions claimed RB J.D. McKissic off waivers from the Seahawks. Theo Riddick lite? Raiders claimed QB DeShone Kizer off waivers from the Packers. But why? Just stick with Glennon/Peterman. Cardinals signed DE Cassius Marsh. Nice pickup. Seahawks had to cut him to make room for Clowney. He's actually good.

UNBELIEVABLE
People have compared AB to Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson and other diva wide receivers. No. He is worse because his actions spill over into social media in a way that is just downright unacceptable. There is being a diva and then there is just being a deluded, selfish, irresponsible egomaniac. I don't care how amazing he is on the field. He's not worth the trouble. Honestly I'd rather the Raiders just cut bait with this psychopath.
I am so annoyed at myself for having drafted AB in two leagues, including my 14 team big money league. If anything, I'm just glad I "handcuffed" him with Tyrell Williams knowing that AB was just one step away from an implosion.

I'm not surprised just because Mayock came off as a stern, no nonsense type of guy..and i figured there would be confrontation. I wonder if he even finishes the year. I didn't have him in drafting mind because I didn't know what to expect with the feet..let alone the helmet..now the fines/suspensions. Maybe real football starting will put this clown noise on the back page.

Fantasy-wise, AB not playing obviously benefits Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, Darren Waller and I'm hoping RB Josh Jacobs.
They gave Tyrell a ton of $, so logically he'd slide in as the leader WR. In 2016 he did have 1059 receiving yards and 7 receiving TDs. Still only 27. If the team goes in the tank, the latter 3 are natural building blocks for the future and should benefit from volume.

I feel like if Gruden wants AB and Mark Davis wants AB, Mayock has no choice but to keep AB. That said, there are rumors they are looking into voiding his deal if they suspend and find him detrimental to the team. I think AB saga is going to go on all year especially if the Raiders are a losing team. Personally, I don't think AB wants to play football anymore. I just think he likes everything that comes with being a football player. He sounds like a guy ready to make that post-football transition into something else and just hasn't worked out yet. He acts like a guy who just wants to be a celeb.

Yup.
His short-lived appearance on The Masked Singer Season 1 was a key indicator of that. As he got eliminated, he lifted his shirt to show his abs. I mean, congrats on your physique but such a douche egoamaniacal move.

Via Josina Anderson: "Source: #Raiders WR Antonio Brown just issued “an emotional apology” at a team meeting this morning, just now, “with team captains standing with him."
Code for: AB doesn't care that he's been acting a fool and hurting his team. He simply realized - or his agent clued him in - that he might lose his $. So he swallowed his pride for a moment to try and avoid that scenario. Really though he needs to apologize to Mayock, who is just doing his job. Was watching PTI and Tony kept saying Mayock shouldn't have fined him and needs to treat him differently. NO. You make certain concessions for stars but you don't tolerate insubordinate behavior. Setting an awful precedent and showing a true lack of integrity. Mayock was doing his job. If AB would just do his, EVERYTHING would be fine.

Wild indeed.

This is obviously all on AB. If he just acted like literally ANYONE ELSE in the NFL, none of this would be an issue - ranging from the helmet, ditching practices/walk throughs, ghosting the team, the social media nonsense, the taping of Gruden's call to use in a youtube video to disputing fines that were warranted and then getting into an altercation with the GM and using a racial slur. People think he may have CTE and is mentally unstable as a result. NO. This is AB. He's just more erratic now than he's ever been but the signs were always there and things just pushed him over the edge. Like the Steelers naming Juju MVP, which damaged the ego of his baby.
The Raiders gambled on him. Gave up a 3rd and a 5th and lavished him with a big contract. They tried their best to work with him. Gruden was even willing to play him week 1 despite everything. I'm so glad they cut bait and I'm super glad if they end up not paying him a dime. AB's agent said that he is going to talk to the NFLPA about a legal process to appeal not getting paid. Yeah, I can only imagine the NFLPA's reaction to having to defend AB in all this. He is literally the antithesis of how an NFL player should conduct himself.
I really am curious to see what comes next for him. Would I be surprised if some team signed him Monday/Tuesday? Of course not. In sports, teams are always willing to gamble on game changers.

You know what, my hate for the Patriots has gone down considerably. Maybe in my grizzled old age I have come to have a greater respect for that organization. Plus I watched that Julian Edelman documentary and found it quite enjoyable. Much like The 30 for 30 they did on The Brady 6.
Plus this makes me believe ALL of this nonsense was just a plan of his to get out of Pittsburgh, avoid a crap team like the Bills/Raiders and land on the Patriots - what he wanted all along. Even if it cost him some $. Makes me think he is less psychotic, egomaniac and more evil genius. That he screwed over the Raiders in the process doesn't bug me because the Raiders never should have done this in the first place.
Fantasy-wise, this is the best possible outcome - esp. for my big $ league. Went from AB, Tyrell on the same team. To Tyrell as the lead on OAK and not knowing if AB will play. To Tyrell and Renfrow on OAK and AB on New England and all likely being playable. Renfrow is depth but Carr + slot guy = high floor.

The Pats will get back a 2021 sixth-round pick for Thomas, who was inactive for the team's Week 1 win over Pittsburgh. Needed to clear up some logjam with Brown now signed. Sucks for Thomas because he went from a great situation to bad one because he'll likely be buried in the depth chart behind the WRs they already have.

Via NY Times: www.nytimes.com/2019/09/10/sports/football/antonio-brown-sexual-asssault-patriots.html"New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown has been accused of raping his former trainer, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in the Southern District of Florida. The lawsuit says that Brown — in three separate incidents, two in June 2017 and another in May 2018 — sexually assaulted a woman named Britney Taylor, a gymnast whom he met while they were attending Central Michigan together and whom he later hired as a trainer. “Mr. Brown denies each and every allegation in the lawsuit,” said a statement from Darren Heitner, a lawyer representing Brown. “He will pursue all legal remedies to not only clear his name but to also protect other professional athletes against false accusations.” According to the lawsuit, Brown sexually assaulted Taylor twice during training sessions in June 2017. First, he exposed himself and kissed her without her permission, the lawsuit says. Later that month, the lawsuit says, while she was watching a television program at his home, Brown started masturbating behind her and ejaculated on her back. Brown bragged about the incident in profane text messages that are copied in the lawsuit." Oh boy. The saga continues.

I'm just glad we have a kicker this year. Though I admit Denver got hosed with that roughing the passer call and it's questionable if we got the timeout in before the clock hit zero. But I'll take a win by any means. Still not impressed by Mitch though.

Eli Manning's run as the New York Giants starting quarterback appears to be over after almost 15 years. Rookie Daniel Jones will take over beginning Sunday on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Well, you can't turn back to Eli now..barring a Jones injury, that would put a wrap on Eli. Good dude though, I like Eli
