Unfortunate that health issues forced him to stop playing basketball at age 31.
If not for that, he could realistically still be playing now at the age of 36 - with a sure fire HOF resume. I don't know that he would have added a ring but a healthy Bosh likely keeps Wade from signing with Chicago and teaming up with guys like Dragic, Whiteside, Winslow, Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson etc. would have made that a pretty solid team in 2016-2017.
Just wait until next year and let CWebb, Ben Wallace, Bosh in. Only lock from the NBA Players angle is Paul Pierce, so definitely room for others.

Wallace is a four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006), four-time NBA All-Star (2003-06) and NBA Champion with the Detroit Pistons (2004). He earned NBA All-Defensive Team honors five times (2002-2006) and All-NBA Second Team three times (2003, 2004, 2006), while leading the NBA in rebounds per games (2002, 2003) and blocked shots (2002)
While nice..I'd still let Big Ben wait 3-4 years

If Mutombo can make it in his first year and Rodman in his second year, I think Big Ben can make it in his 4th year in 2021

The 4 DPOY are hard to overlook. That's a pretty amazing feat itself let alone it happening in almost 4 consecutive years. Only Wallace and Mutombo hold the honor of having it 4x. And if you look at his resume, it's that far off from Mutombo's. It seems like Wallace's career happened so fast and ended so quickly but he did manage to accomplish a lot in that 4-5 year span. First ballot? Maybe not though I've always said either they are or aren't. But I can see a 2nd ballot, if not first, for him.

He has waited 3 years. This year was his 3rd year of eligibility.
Next year it's really just Pierce as a lock for the HOF. It makes sense to go ahead and start including guys like Ben and CWebb in a relatively shallow field.

He's finally healthy and last 10 games, he was averaging 16.3ppg 3.0rpg 5.4apg 38.8% on threes. On paper, obviously a nice pickup. We'll see how he fits in. That team already has Lou, so not entirely sure what Jackson brings that the team doesn't already have. They would have benefited more from snagging a bought out big.

I look forward to this coming class with KG, Duncan and.... sigh..... Kobe
But after that you have: Wade, Dirk, Lebron, Pierce, CP3, KD, Russ, Harden, Steph, Melo, Carter, Parker, Pau, Manu
Here is an interesting name:
Dwight Howard 3X DPOY 8X All-Star 8X All-NBA (5X 1st team) 5X All-Defense (4X 1st team) 6X Rebounding Champ (with 6 other top 5 finishes) 2X Shot Blocks Champ (with 7 other top 10 finishes)
And unlike Rodman/Ben/Mutombo - he was an offensive force with 8 seasons of 17ppg+ (4 of 20+ ppg). Led league in FG% 1X (with 9 other top 4 finishes)
If he can win a title with the Lakers this year, certainly looks like a HOF lock (he seems like one without the ring but it's a cherry on the top of the resume sundae)
Plus he seems like he can still play a couple more years after tghis to further pad his stats 14th All-Time in Career Rebounds and Blocks He's not that far from 20000 total points

I think Howard is a lock regardless but I agree a title is probably the only thing missing from it. 2x Gold medalist as well.
Not sure what Reggie Jackson brings either to the Clippers. Probably would've been better off in a place like Miami where more time was available because I don't see minutes available on the Clippers.

Cavaliers, coach John Beilein remain in discussions on his future with franchise -- including on terms of a contract settlement, league sources tell ESPN. Both sides believe he's coached his final game, but there's no resolution yet. JB Bickerstaff would elevate to head coach.

I suppose what RJackson does bring is additional depth. Beverley has missed 15 games, Shamet 17 and.... ugh.... PG 21. Add in Kawhi's load management. When healthy though: Beverley, Lou, Shamet, Jackson, McGruder, PG, Kawhi, Morris, Green, Zubac, Harrell, Patterson. That's a heckuva 12 man roster.

Since the Lakers didn't make any moves at the deadline and Collison opted to stay retired, curious to see what they do, if anything. With the best record in the NBA, didn't necessarily have to do anything but obviously the team felt it perhaps did given they did at least try to make moves. They have been linked to Mo Harkless if bought out by the Knicks, so we'll see.
Every team from #2 to #9 in the West did something mid-season to shake things up. Nuggets got McRae, Vonleh, Bates-Diop. The deadline was more about them getting something for impending FAs in Beasley/Hernangomez BUT the McRae pickup was a sneaky good move Clippers got Morris and Jackson. Both legitimate additions at least from a proven talent standpoint. Jazz got Clarkson. Averaging 16.2ppg for Utah. Rockets got Covington, Caboclo, Green, Carroll. Obviously at the expense of Capela but they are all in on small-ball. Thunder didn't do really much but they did trade Patton/cash for Roby so they technically count. Mavs got WCS and MKG. The former is doing OK in limited minutes and the latter could be a decent contributor in the 2nd half. Grizzlies got Winslow, Dieng and Bell. Really more of a down the road move for Winslow but given minutes Dieng can ball Blazers got Ariza, now a starter for them.

Dragan Bender to sign a 10 day contract with Warriors.
6/23/2016 - Suns use #4 overall pick to draft Bender
6/23/2016 - Suns trade rights to 2014 1st rounder Bogdan Bogdanovic, #13 pick, #28 pick+ 2020 Detroit 2nd rd pick (currently #37) for #8 overall pick to draft Chriss
9/24/2019 - Warriors sign Chriss to 1 year min deal (eventually a two year minimum contract on 2/7/2020)
2/20/2020 - Warriors sign Bender to 10 day deal
Crazy how quickly the value of a player can change
To go from #4/#8 picks to essentially FA scraps
And it's not like 2016 was a bad draft. Obviously Simmons/BI/Jaylen Brown at the top turned out great but Hield at 6, J. Murray at 7, Sabonis at 11 were other strong lottery picks (along with Siakam, Levert, D. Murray, Brogdon in the draft class).

Via RW: "General manager Sean Marks confirmed Kyrie Irving (right shoulder) will have arthroscopic surgery and will miss the rest of the season. "
Kyrie? Injured? Missing Games? I'm shocked - said no one.
Crazy to think a team currently in the 7th seed would view a season as a throw-away but that's pretty much the case here with KD out all year and now Kyrie. They'll ride it out with Dinwiddie, Levert, Harris, Prince, Allen, Temple, DJ, W. Chandler etc. but obviously they are focused in on next season.
I'm curious to see what they do this offseason to build around KD/Kyrie.
I mean, if Beal demands out or the Sixers decide to shake things up and shop Embiid, they'd be enticing targets obviously but I could see a more subtle move like pursuing Aaron Gordon.

Morons say Kemba Walker will miss Friday's game with the Wolves with a sore knee. Despite having a minutes limit in All-Star game, Walker still was played 32 minutes, including 15 straight in the competitive fourth quarter. Boston Morons guard Kemba Walker had his knee drained and received a synvisc injection to help with swelling and soreness, coach Brad Stevens said Friday.

It's a solid pickup for the Lakers if he signs. I know immediately people will make it out to seem like the Lakers got Luigi of the two brothers but Morris is shooting close to 40% from 3pt this year and he's another guy who can play multiple positions in the frontcourt. He'll help out when the Lakers go "small" with AD at the 5.

Love the Markieff Morris pickup if the Lakers get him. He's not as good as Marcus but he's a fairly solid player in his own right who brings similar things to the table with his versatility, toughness and 3pt shooting - and the Lakers would get him for nothing compared to the Clippers having to make a trade. Kuz could maybe learn a thing or two from Markieff. Sucks for Boogie but it's a tough business and he was eating up a roster spot with no guarantee he would have been of any use even if he was active for the postseason.
