Here in North Carolina we are up to 15 with the virus, and toilet paper of all things is out of stock everywhere, panic mode.
Here in SoCal it's like everyone is hoarding for the zombie apocalypse.
Toilet Paper Bottled Water Hand Sanitizer Lysol Wipes Paper Towels Dried Food Frozen Food
Pillaged.
There was so much madness at a local Costco before it opened due to a long line and line cutting that cops had to come. It's insane.

I was going to make a joke earlier in reply to all the suspensions of athletic events bemoaning having to actually talk to my family and wondering if I am going to have to really resort to watching esports.
But in the last hour the Premier League said games were still going to be played with full stadiums - and then the news broke that Arsenal’s manager has the virus.
Real life is having more twists and turns than a telenovella!!

I did get some lysol wipes(lemon scent) lol because I handle money and credit card exchange with customers. So I use them when I get back to my computer keyboard and mouse.
But TP is another story around here. Shelves are empty.
I thought it was just here in NC

Yeah the TP thing is odd.
Went to the store after work (Kroger, 4pm) here north of Cincy. Tons of customers, lines backed up into every aisle for checkouts, plenty of meat/chicken, plenty of milk and eggs and bread and such....
The aisle with the TP and paper towels and cleaners/sanitizers looked like they were shooting and early season Walking Dead episode. Unreal.

go re-watch Contagion.. playing out perfectly
folks are hoarding anticipating things get even more drastic where stores won't be getting items restocked..
one good thing about COVID-19 is that it doesn't seem to be affecting our youth.. makes it seem suspect like it was engineered that way 🤔

Ironically I saw a sale on Amazon 2 weeks ago for a ridiculous amount of toilet paper for like pennies on the dollar. Like 128 rolls. I bought it just because without thinking about COVID-19. Last night I just gave my mother like 10 rolls not because she's worried but I feel like Im hoarding it for no reason lol.

wow, that's a story worth sharing for sure. My man clicked buy now on 128 rolls. You won that deal.

And all my response was "it was a great buy." Even with this pandemic she still can't believe I ordered 128 rolls off Amazon lol

Big changes today..all N.C. schools are closed for 2 weeks. Churches are closing. Outings, concerts. And an obvious big economy hit. And no toilet paper at Lowe's Foods today. I did grab 2 rolls of paper towels..as that was all that was left..and I was actually out. Crazy times

CDC just made public a recommendation to postpone or cancel any event of 50+ people for the next 8 weeks.
Strap in, fellas. It's going to be a long while.

Last night, the mayor of LA basically ended society in LA to curb the spread
Never mind the bigger venues / gatherings that have been cancelled. Gyms. Movie theaters. Arcades. Bowling alleys. Bars. Nightclubs. Pubs. ALL closed for the next 2 weeks. All restaurants are now take out or delivery only.
Basically only thing left are grocery stores, drug stores and SOME retail stores. Stores like Nike and Lululemon have closed but yet stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Hot Topic etc. are weirdly open. Only matter of time before they close is my guess.
I didn't get into the hoard mentality but I do have enough food, water, toiletries to last a 4 week quarantine if needed. Just gonna be eating a lot of pasta and pancakes.

MLB just released a statement saying they will abide by the CDC guidelines of no gathering greater than 50 people for the next 8 weeks and will adjust their schedule accordingly.
I asked for over/under on start of the season during our auction draft and Jamie said May 15th - which would be aligned with this, but they have to ramp up when they come back don’t they?
Gonna be a boring next two months!! Maybe the Cowboys can trade Zeke for Antonio Bryant and liven it up!!

May 11 is 8 weeks from now.
While mid-June is being tossed around, I've also been hearing July 4 for when the MLB is going to start and that sounds more and more likely.

Pretty much the same chaos in Chicago. Governor of Illinois didn't take too kind to people partying for ST. Patty's Day so he locked down all gyms, restaurants, large gatherings for at least 2 weeks. I went in to work yesterday just to be sent home. I feel like I'm already getting cabin fever.

It's getting worse around here.I think we are up to 36 or so infected..and a teacher was one of them..so that shut down all NC schools. They just shut down bars and restaurants today. It's going to hurt small businesses. Already seen restaurant employees looking jobs on social media. Traffic is alot less..phone calls/customers/emails are alot less at work. and it's only going to get worse.

Good for him.
I went to the office today for a meeting and basically saw 9 people crowded together at the table and I'm like "WTF guys. Seriously?"
I stood super far away in the conference room and our idiot vice president actually asked why I was so far. YOU ARE 79. You of all people should be keeping your distance. But it's fine, if you want to get sick and risky dying that's your deal. Whatever.

Up to 7 now with Gobert, Mitchell, Wood
My friend said this isnt helping the NBA return but I actually think identifying and isolating those who are positive is what will help clear this up by preventing any further spread.

I saw this today:
The guy got eviscerated, but I think I agree, if I was starting a franchise and could draft any QB that ever played Brady wouldn’t be in my top 5.

Looks like the Bucs disagree with me, but they also disagreed with me when they drafted Winston. Hope we have an NFL season, just so we get to see how it goes.

My top 5 - with the caveat I was not old enough to see guys like Unitas, Staubach, Namath, Bradshaw etc. - would off the top of my head in no order be Montana, Elway, Peyton, Rodgers and.... sigh.... Brady. As much as I'd like to Brees or Marino or even Favre ahead, I can't.

I can’t argue with that too much - but I’d probably have Staubach (I AM old enough to remember watching him!!), Favre, Marino, & Aikman ahead of Brady.
I would probably have it Montana, Elway, Favre, Peyton, Staubach, Aikman, Brady - after that it gets tough, with guys like Young, Moon, Bradshaw, Fouts, Brees, Tarkenton, & Rodgers. (Like you I am discounting the Unitas, Graham, & Starr’s because I never saw them play.)
I wonder how Peyton or Aikman would have fared in the Belichick system? That would have been fun to watch - although I would probably still hate on the Pats regardless!!

even though this was put in the wrong thread (I think since Thunder pinned the news thread it's got confusing) but I'd have Steve Young ahead of Aikman for sure
but since you mentioned Staubach..and Aikman..I'm assuming ur a Cowboys fan lol

Actually, I’m an Oilers fan. I used to like the Cowboys a bit - for just a millisecond, back in the 70’s - but my first real fandom in any sport was the Oilers in the “Luv Ya Blue” era - which is why, in addition to hating all New York, Boston, & LA teams, I also hate the Steelers with a passion!!
I grew to hate the Cowboys over time - and now revel in their failures, as much as any other team. And, yes, I hate the Titans, and hope that the Curse of Bud Adams lasts for eternity.
I just never could get into the Texans, so while my love for the Astros & Rockets will endure forever (or until they relocate and I hate them too), I really don’t have an NFL team any more - I usually just pick a team to root for at the beginning of every season and stick with them for the year - but it changes nearly every year.
My NFL experience is more defined by who I hate and root against than anything else now.
Kind of sad, but it is all greedy Bud Adams fault - and he totally deserved to lose the Super Bowl by a yard!!
