For KCP, 4.89M is guaranteed in the 3rd year. So the 3 year 39M is guaranteed for $30M.

I thought Bell was a useful player when he was on the Warriors the prior two seasons to this past one
4.6ppg 3.6rpg 1.8apg 1.0bpg 62.7fg% in 14.2mpg as a rookie in 2017-2018 3.3ppg 2.7rpg 1.1apg 0.8bpg 51.6fg% in 11.6mpg his 2nd year in 2018-2019
The numbers don't pop off but per minute, they show a guy good for some shot blocking and easy baskets. The Warriors thought highly enough of him to play at least some minutes in their respective postseason runs. Plus he's actually from Los Angeles and went to high school in Long Beach.
Could do a lot worse as a young athletic big at the end of your bench for 1.76M.

Lakers among 4 teams looking at GRob3 along with Clippers, Jazz and Kings. Good rotation player and I am biased because he is a Wolverine BUT between KCP, Lebron, Caruso, Wes Matthews, McKinnie and Horton-Tucker, really isn't room for him. Lakers should focus on another PG and big rather than another wing. The Jazz have good swing depth too with Mitchell, Clarkson, Ingles, O'Neale, Niang, Morgan. GRob3 can certainly find a role on the Clippers/Kings as the primary backup to Kawhi/Barnes.

Lakers re-sign Jared Dudley to the vet min - 1 year 2.6M deal.
He is officially our Udonis Haslem. Can't underestimate the value of a good veteran presence, locker room leader who waves a mean towel on the sideline.

Bigger role for Caruso next year. Hope he can guard the PG's

So Lakers right now have:
PG: Schroder, Caruso
SG: KCP, Matthews, Horton-Tucker
SF: Lebron, Morris, McKinnie PF: AD, Kuz, Dudley
C: Gasol, Harrell
Two Way: K. Antetokounmpo, Devontae Cacock
Exhbit 10: PG Zavier Simpson, SG Kevon Harris F Tres Tinkle
As it stands, Caruso is the backup PG. Which I think he can handle but couldn't hurt the team to add more depth. Matthews is long in the tooth and Horton-Tucker is unproven. The PF/C rotation is fine. AD is the defacto 3rd string C and Lebron/Morris can obviously play PF. So honestly I wouldn't object to a defensive minded SF. So guys like Mudiay and RHJ could be nice additions if you want proven players to fill out the roster.
Of course Lebron can pivot and just add JR Smith and Kyle Korver. The latter is still ringless after 17 seasons and may want to latch on for one last shot and was teammates with Lebron in Cleveland. Hard to argue with adding his shooting. The former needs no explanation.

A guy I think the Lakers should look at is Shabazz Napier. Im actually kinda shocked no one has picked him up.

Ha. I just mentioned him in the other thread. Yeah me and Oak have tossed his name around for other teams but really the Lakers should look his way. I know Lebron is the team's actual "point guard" but positionally speaking going into the season with just Schroder, Caruso there is less than ideal.
I wonder if the reason Napier hasn't been picked up are his expectations after a career year - for as much as 10.3ppg 2.8rpg 4.7apg 1.2spg goes. Can't blame the guy for thinking he deserves a good role and decent contract. I'm sure signing a 1 year vet min deal to just compete for a backup spot isn't what he had in mind.

Give IT a shot. If/when he's not getting the minutes he wants grant him his release. Or he can be a team player, good cheerleader and chase a ring.

Interestingly IT was Lebron's teammate in Cleveland and a Laker in 2017-2018. The former traded him before the deadline and the latter just let him walk as a free agent.
He looked alright in Washington this past season. 12.2ppg 3.7apg 41.3% on threes. Of course he's turning 32 in February, still has injury concerns and is still short and terrible on defense.
Maybe a team like Utah could look his way. They have a lot of good ball-handlers but don't have a true veteran backup PG behind Conley. Having Gobert/Favors at C could help them shield IT's defense on some level. Like how Boston had Amir Johnson and Al Horford.

Lebron might be the only guy ever in NBA History - past, present, future - where he gets a MAX contract in his 19th and 20th season and most logical (i.e. non haters) people think it's perfectly reasonable.
Of course coming out of high school gives him an edge over countless other legends but still a remarkable achievement. We saw what Kobe was in his 19th and 20th seasons and the only people who thought his final contract was reasonable was Kobe, his agent, the dummies in the front office at the time and deluded Laker fans.

It's crazy a guy going into his 19th and 20th season will make 42 and 43 million respectively and ELITE players in his same class are retired or in the case of Carmelo, getting a vet minimum. True testament to how much he has stayed in shape and on top of the game.

I read an article about everything he does - and the gobs of $ he "spends" - to keep himself in shape. I wonder if people like Larry Bird, who broke down physically towards the end of their career, wish they had that type of technology.
I firmly believe Lebron and Bronny will be NBA teammates.

I don't think Bronny is that good. I dont know what star rank he is for high school.
But then again the 3rd Ball brother just got signed a non-guarantee deal with the Pistons
*edit, not saying he isn't good..was meaning THAT good enough talent to be an NBA player. I mean he may be like Jordan's 2 sons, although I think 1 of the 1 were better

If anything, it's better that Bronny isn't that good. He can go undrafted and then he and Lebron can sign together as free agents. I'm sure any team would gladly burn a roster spot on Bronny if it meant having Lebron, even in his 21st season at the ripe old age of 38. Especially if that team is small market and could use the inevitably exaggerated media coverage.

So 9 players - 11 if you count the two guys on two way contracts in Cacock/Kostas - returning from last year. For the most part the band is back together.
Team basically traded (excluding late season scrap heap pickups in Waiters/Smith):
Rondo, Green, Bradley, Howard, McGee
for
Schroder, Matthews, McKinnie, Gasol, Harrell
For as great as Rondo was in the postseason, obviously an upgrade here with what Schroder brings.
For as much as I hate on Green for his crappy postseason shooting, swapping him/Bradley for Matthews/McKinnie is obviously a downgrade Howard/McGee to Gasol/Harrell is a hit in terms of length/athleticism but an upgrade in offensive skill/bball IQ. So legit upgrade.
A key is Horton-Tucker in making up for that hit on the wing.
