Well well well..lookie who wants to change the keepers up so he suggests dropping down to 2-3 haha
wouldnt mind have some fresh blood, interesting.
*actually..according to EE..league started in 2003..so for our 20th' anniversary..we could shake it up next year. I like it

Either we go down to 0 and truly shuffle it up or just stay with the status quo and keep it at 5. Going halfway seems arbitrary because in the end the elite players will still remain with their incumbent squad. All we'll be doing is shuffling the Pascal Siakams of the league.

I think 3 would work.. I'd keep probably Harden, Dame, LaVine
Get some great first 4 round picks
Then 2 of those guys will be my 4th and 5th keeper after that. Basically shuffling the players around. New faces, on new teams. I like 3, makes for some hard decisions too

My vote is either we start over or stay at 5. Zero interest in moving down to 2 or 3. Unless the truly elite players change teams, I maintain it is an arbitrary shake up.

I think 2 would create some significant shakeup and not make people completely start over. I think most teams have at least 3 elite players and 2 more borderline-elite or players on the rise. In my case, I'd probably keep Steph and another player. But it would free up either LeBron or Gobert to go back to the free agent pool not to mention Brandon Ingram and Jarrett Allen. But it was merely a suggestion. I don't know the rules of the dynasty league but I sorta feel like that's where we are with the teams because it's not much movement on star players except the occasional Obie selling the farm to someone (usually Oak ). Not to mention it's pretty hard to trade keepers prior to the draft because it's essentially 1 for 1 deals.

Completely start over I can be down with. But man..to put it all on a random draft decider on draft order is tough.
Feels like I've had Harden, Dame, Butler forever.

What we should have done to force continuous shakeup is put a cap on how long you can keep players, ideally 3 years.

No cap on players. 3 years ain't really enough time, especially for some rookies. Cade may not reach his peak for 4 or 5 years, and Thunder doesn't get to see the fruits of his labor. Banchero, etc.
In terms or other keepers, all or nothing.

I agree with that. I was just saying that if the intent was continual shakeup, that is what we should have done from the get-go.
Obviously I'm with you in all or nothing as I've adamantly said as much and your bringing up how long it takes for young guys to peak - who might be your 3rd to 5th keeper - is actually further reasoning why we shouldn't drop down to 2 or 3 keepers for a season to "shake things up". It's not fair to those who have gone about rebuilding.

Yeah. I vote for keeping the status quo. I understand that shaking things up has it’s appeal, but dynasty/keeper leagues are supposed to work this way. That’s the beauty of the format.
I would say we should allow more than 1 for 1 trades in the off-season. If someone wants to give up 2 or 3 for 1 we should allow it. Not sure exactly why it’s even an issue, to be honest.
Anyhow, my 2 cents for what it is worth.

Keep Status quo. If anything add one more keeper from last year.

1 week from today, Thursday October 6th. 8:45est Team Oak will begin his quest to get the Dynasty back on track and defend his title. Reminder for Obi: Draft smart..and pick a few players I might like so we can do our annual trade See ya then -Oak =========== Can I just trade everyone as I draft them?

I'm gonna go after Luka again this year, So I'll keep shooting since the price is out of this world too high.

Then here comes the midseason trade of Luka for Josh Giddey because he's 19 and "on the rise."

P.S. I don't want to be a part of the other league this year. I never ended up giving a shit about it and barely paid attention to it.
More focused on getting back on track and going 3 in 4 years in Scout

There's a guy I really want at 6th pick..doubt he will be there. I'm hoping ones ahead of me grab some rookies. Wish Obi picked ahead of me instead of Thunder.

I got a pretty decent offer for the #1 pick - a young talent who has multiple 20ppg seasons under his belt - but turned it down.
Banchero may not pan out but damnit I like the allure of the mystery box.

I'll probably end up going with old faithful and grabbing DeRozan again Curious to see if Ayton is there at 6..I gotta go younger one day. Really wish his blocks were doubled

DeRozan at 6th may be a stretch. Auto drafts will probably snatch him up so it'll come down to people actually logging in and going in other directions.
I have no clue who I will go with at #7

90% going Banchero #1 overall but I'd be lying if I said I didn't at least consider Fox
