Hey, if anyone is interested, me and a few guys from my dynasty are breaking off from that league and starting a new dynasty league on Fantrax.
Let me know if you are interested.

Free or paid?

As of now, it's paid...but only about $8/person to split the site cost.
But if enough people want a prize pool, we could do that too.
Although it is a dynasty, so people may not be keen to paying into a prize pool when they may be rebuilding...

I registered just now.

No worries. Just trying to make sure we have all 12 in before the draft.
Might be doing a slow draft with all players (including rookies) since we've got time between now and the start of next season. Then transition to the 2 round rookie draft next year when we have actual standings to determine draft order.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll make my pick shortly.
And why the hell are Rozier, Wiggins, Mikal Bridges ranked 6 to 8 overall??!?!?!

I don't know. Fantrax's metrics are all fucked up. I went and rearranged them one night while I was up with the fussy baby

I picked Embiid over AD in the battle of extremely talented and productive but brittle big men.
Ultimately opted for Embiid over the homer pick because I think with what happened last season and bringing in Westbrook, the Lakers will load manage AD for the postseason.

I had Embiid down on my rankings. Just don't trust him aging and last year screams "career year". But who knows. He'll be a per game beast for sure.

It was a career year in FG% and PPG - granted only by 1PPG - but he's done better in prior seasons in RPG, APG, BPG, 3PG. He's a year older than Jokic and less than a year older than Giannis. Might he not age gracefully due to his injury history? Perhaps but at 27, I'm hardly concerned about that. I mean someone drafted Steph Curry if we're going to talk about age here. I think he'll maintain the elite production offensively because he's made a concerted effort to be more aggressive on offense, as people like Shaq and Barkley are incessantly coming at him for not being more aggressive, and I hope a Simmons trade brings in a better outside shooter to space the floor better for him down low. Defensively we know what he can do and he has room to improve from last season where his 10.6rpg and 1.4bpg were actually some of his career worsts. Obviously the biggest concern is injuries and why I didn't immediately jump on him but it happens and I'll just ride the per game production when I get it.

You're right. I spoke out of my ass without digging into the data.
I'm certainly still worried about the injuries, not just specific to him, but almost all big men like him historically. Chances are high that he maybe has 3-4 more years of high value play in him.
It's not a bad pick. And surely he would be easy to move in a year or two if you want off the ride.
It was just curious to me with guys like Harden and Dame still on the board you were looking at Embiid and AD.
And while I did select Steph, who is 6 years older with injury issues in his past too, it does appear that his game should still age pretty gracefully until he's done. Plus, I'm trying to win now, not 6 years from now like I assume some of the people in here will be drafting like.

To be honest, I didn't know you picked Steph. So that wasn't a dig at you in any way. I just saw he was picked and when you brought up age for Embiid, that was my natural response. I'm sure Steph will be fine for a few years.
I pick again in 3 picks and I'm 100% certain one of Harden or Dame will be available and I'd be fine with either - and even if both were sniped on the 12/13 swing I'd be fine with Beal. Whereas I had a clear choice of Embiid or AD and would rather go there to get my preferred option of Embiid at 11 versus "settling" for AD at 14.

Considered Harden, Beal and for a split second actually thought about AD.
Ultimately chose Dame Time.

Harden came off immediately after you.
I got about 4 picks. Not sure where I'm gonna go until I see who's there.
My board right now has LaMelo, Lavigne, Beal, KD as my next 4

Not going to lie, I legitimately considered LaMelo at 14. Sky is the limit for the kid and I can easily see him putting up stats akin to an in-prime Jason Kidd. That said, I'll take Dame putting up top 10 seasons the next 3 years and likely still being very productive even further than that when you see what CP3/Lowry are doing - and guys like Conley, Curry, Russ are still chugging.

Welp just saw LaMelo went. After Cade and Edwards. Teams really going for youth.

Pretty fun draft. Been a long time since I did a slow draft with 12 hours per pick.
I drafted:
G: Dame, Conley, Schroder
G: K. Porter, THT, Okoro, Moody
F: Jaylen, M. Porter, Z. Williams
F: Je. Grant, P. Williams, Jaden McDaniels, Roby
C: Embiid, Turner, Holmes
Started drafting proven players and then just loaded up on upside with later picks. Guys like Jaden McDaniels, Isaiah Roby, Isaac Okoro and Patrick Williams are younger guys whose names are more unknown who look to have bigger roles next season and can fill the stat sheets, namely threes and defensive stats. Moody and Z. Williams are my rookie picks. Grizzlies letting Winslow leave opens the door for Williams to have a decent role right off the bat but both these guys are more long term fliers. And likely the first to get cut if I need to make a move.
That said, after the draft I realized my bench and SG spot was maybe a little too much on the "upside" so I swung THT in the first trade of the league to another owner for THJ and a 2022 2nd rd rookie pick. THT still has big upside but I question his role this season on a win-now Lakers team loaded with vets and depth. So I opted for a more stable, reliable immediate option with Tim Hardaway Jr. who I know - esp. with that fat contract - will start, see legit minutes and get like 18-3-2 with 3 threes a games.

I drafted 5/12.
I definitely did not opt for the "upside" strategy with my selections. I am all in for a title (I won the league that this one spun off from last year, in addition to my back to back run here).
PG: Steph, Kyrie, Josh Giddey SG/SF: Kawhi, Sexton, LeVert, Hayward, Beasley, Robinson, Mann, JRich PF/C: Sabonis, Capela, W.Carter, Ibaka, Thad Young, Birch
Biggest move was grabbing Kawhi in the 5th. Everyone must have been scared off by his age, injury and "load management". But I got him in between Darius Garland and OG, not a bad price for a guy that is fully capable of putting up top 5 value per game next year when he's back.

Luka. Giannis went 2. Trae 3 (although that guy is from GA and admitted to homer picking).
