Can you imagine how different things would be for the Sixers if they hit on more of their picks. Noel. MCW. Saric. Okafor. Fultz. Zhaire Smith.
Fun fact - Sixers - as part of that 4 team trade that landed Dwight Howard in LA the first time around in 2012:
Traded:
Nikola Vucevic - who they drafted #16 in 2011, I hear he's pretty good now
Andre Iguodala - 28 at the time and coming off his lone All-Star appearance. Goes on to win 3 titles.
#15 pick Mo Harkless - nothing exciting, just a fairly good role player through 9 seasons
Future 1st rd pick that became #26 in 2018 (which they ironically reacquired in a later deal and used on Shamet)
Received:
Andrew Bynum - out for all of 2012-2013 to injury and let go as a FA in 2013. So they literally got nothing here.
Jason Richardson - 31 at the time. Through 3 injury plagued seasons, JRich gave a total of 52 games for 10ppg 3.7rpg 1.7apg 1spg

Honestly, in light of last night, just one pick (which they actually nailed) which was the Mikal Bridges selection that they traded for Zhaire Smith and his peanut allergy.
Just having a closing unit of Thybulle, Bridges, Harris, Simmons, Embiid would be nightmarish, especially defensively. Would certainly give the 04 Pistons a run for their money for best defensive lineup in league history.

12/31/16
PG13 Jokic Dennis Smith Jr
For
Aaron Gordon Clint Capela D'Angelo Russell

12/31/16 PG13 Jokic Dennis Smith Jr For Aaron Gordon Clint Capela D'Angelo Russell
That was just me stubbornly trying to re-acquire PG13 given I dropped him as a keeper when he broke his leg in 2014.
World goes round and round. Acquire Joker in a 3 for 3. Trade Joker in a 3 for 3 - both involving Capela.

You weren't the only one...
I also acquired AD in a 3 man package involving Capela.
I smell my 1st round draft pick next year...

Sixers draft Jayson Tatum instead of Fultz and you are probably looking at the best team in the East the last 3-4 years. Plus you don't need to trade 2 first rounders for Tobias Harris. Instead perhaps you use those picks for Kawhi Leonard or Paul George. Can you imagine: Embiid Tatum Kawhi Landry Shamet (or whoever) Ben Simmons

MVP! MVP! Way to go Big Chungus! Thanks again EE. 2027/2028...you paying Joker the FIFTY FOUR POINT EIGHT MILLION for that season tho? Actually, yeah...I probably would. It would be his age 32/33 season. Assuming no devastating injury between now and then...I have a guy who doesn't rely on athleticism but rather his skill and mental acuity. And he's actually pretty rare for a basketball player in that with his skill set, he's kind of the NBA version of Peyton Manning where he IS the offense into himself. You don't really run a "scheme", Jokic is the "scheme". This argument probably works for Luka as well. He's probably the best equipped player in the modern NBA to have that massive salary and not necessarily gut your team because he, in theory, should be the high tide that raises all boats in a way some other more one dimensional players are.

Honestly I can see the Clippers making the Finals. Say what you will about Pandemic P's consistency but Kawhi can carry the team and production from guys like Morris, Kennard, Mann etc. can go a long way. I think they can beat Utah and then Denver or Phoenix.
Yeah, never mind.
Pandemic P was in full effect Kawhi shrunk and somehow it was Marcus "1 for 9 on threes" Morris taking most of the clutch shots
That final play was a disaster. I know coaches don't like to call timeouts because it allows the defense to get set but at the same time it allows you to draw a play, otherwise you just end up with that nonsense.

I was a meme calling him Wayoff P instead of Playoff P after last night's 4-17
Joker better average 28-13-12 and bring home the Chip if I'm paying him $54mil

Only really rooted for him against the Warriors with KD but that's more about not being a fan of the KD to GS move. But I don't dislike him. At this point of the career, I think it's miraculously he's still able to be this effective. I am a fan of him off the court though. I hate that his on the court persona often carries over but in terms of role models, he's probably one of the better ones.

LeBron James is changing his number back to #6 according to Yahoo Sports! I really don't understand the fascination with #6 for LeBron. Even from an economic standpoint, he/Nike can't sell concurrent jerseys (and I'm pretty sure AD well probably make the move to 23 now) so it's not like you're doubling up jersey sales. From my memory, the only reason he switched with the Heat was because Miami had stupidly tried to spearhead a Gretzky-esque, league wide retirement of #23 for Jordan and nobody followed suit (aside from Chicago, obviously).

So now my Eddie Jones jersey has hopped from being Earl Clark to Jordan Clarkson to Lebron James
At least it's an upward trend.

Hawks second-year wing De’Andre Hunter missed the first two games of the team’s round two series with the 76ers with right knee swelling. After an MRI, the initial review revealed a small tear of the lateral meniscus, according to a team press release. Hunter is scheduled to fly to Los Angeles for surgery on Tuesday. He will miss the remainder of the postseason.
That 2019 Hawks draft with De'Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish that looked so great on paper is folding pretty quick
When healthy Hunter - who the Hawks traded a sizable haul to move up to #4 for (#8, #17, a future 1st and taking the salary of Solomon Hill) - looked solid this season. That said, he only played 23 games and is now headed for a 2nd surgery on the same knee. Cam Reddish - who was the other piece of the Trae/Luka trade - has been underwhelming when healthy and has been out for a while due to an achilles injury.

I have mad respect for Lebron the person he is off the court and managing to stay scandal free for the most part, the business man who takes care of his friends in an intelligent way, the generational talent and his work ethic to keep his body in good enough shape and his skill level high enough to continue producing at this stage of his career. He doesn't deserve 90% of the hate he gets. Despite not being an actual Lebron fanboy, I have defended him for the most part from people who attack his finals record, the Miami team-up, the "announcement" etc etc.
That said, I've had a general dislike for Lebron on the court for more or less his entire career because HE WHINES SO DAMN MUCH. Ok I realize a lot of players do this but Lebron is next level and often it leads him to be slow to get back on defense. Also, while I don't want to downplay the beating he takes out there on a nightly basis, the guy is a freakin' drama queen at times when he gets hurt. Kobe tears his achilles and acts almost normal. Klay tears his ACL and the guy wants to come out and play. Lebron falls in a fashion that we see probably a dozen times a game from players and he's a level below Paul Pierce wheelchair status.
It's a pretty complaint in the big picture but it's just too apparent everytime I watch the dude

I couldn't stand him from day 1 since I was a Kobe fan boy. Him coming to LA still ruined my drive to want the Lakers to win.
But ole Luka is is chasing down Bron Bron as far as complaining. I can tolerate LBJ's complaining face he does..but Luka is on another level for me.
But not knocking their greatness. I'm admittedly in that 90% that hates on him for petty stuff lol ..no shame
Now how can Vars hate on Scottie no tippen Pippen!

Kawhi Leonard frankly looking lackadaisical out there at times
Paul George with turnovers and bricks
Marcus Morris sucking on threes - now 1 for 14 this series
Can't stop Mitchell despite several supposedly elite defenders Pat Bev being generally terrible on offense
Sucking in the clutch
Game 2 sure just felt like Game 1

My friends and I were debating who we'd rather build our team around: Trae or Mitchell
I think both are ridiculously talented but I give the edge to Mitchell based on his bulk/strength. Guy is the NBA version of Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin

Mitchell has improved each and every year..I dogged him a couple years ago..much improved overall game

Yeah we were talking real life basketball. Not everything is about fantasy Oak hahaha
That said, in fantasy context, I find it surprising Mitchell actually made 1.2 more threes a game than Trae. I'd have never guessed that.

Kawhi shot 1-4 in the 4th quarter. 4 shots. We would be killing LeBron if that happened. Ty Lue made some horrible decisions that game. He waited way too long to switch Pat Bev on Spida. If you are going to play Pat Bev, put him in position to do what he does best. And then there's PG13... smh

Imagine that, Kawhi is aggressive and PG13 doesn't suck and the Clippers win.
The smaller lineup worked well also, starting Batum and giving more action to Mann.
Now if Marcus Morris would stop being completely useless on offense, they might actually have a shot at winning the series (Mitchell being slightly hobbled doesn't hurt either)
