lol had to look up who Monty coaches..but naa..he'll be there atleast 3 years, I can see him there a while. I'll go with Billy Donovan.
I think Harden is going to average 35+ again, and they'll just have to give it to him.

MVP - Steph Curry - I think with Klay out, he's going to put up absurd numbers and if he can lead the Warriors to say 48 wins and a playoff spot, voters will go his way ROY - Ja Morant - Clearly the best set up for a rookie to put up numbers COY- Quin Snyder - I think Utah will be a strong team this season and voters will recognize the good work Quin does 6th man - Lou Williams - At this point, they need to just rename this the "Lou Williams Award" DPOY- Anthony Davis - Need to have a homer pick here MIP - Dejounte Murray - Seeing as how the league doesn't have a "comeback player of the year award", I think Murray wins it because he both comes back from major injury and shows big time improvement from his 2nd year
Clippers over Sixers

Not being a homer..since I'm still anti-Lebron..I think the Lakers should win. They're pretty stacked..and I think would get past the Clippers/Bucks/Sixers

And the Clippers, Bucks, Sixers aren't "pretty stacked"?

oh they are, and Clippers defense will be elite. But in a half-court setting I'd take Bradley's/Greens defense with AD Howard/Mcgee clogging the paint as well. Same could be said about Utah...Denver will be top 3, I just think Lakers should be favorites over Clippers.

I certainly understand those who favor the Lakers over the Clippers but simply citing the Lakers half court defense isn't much of an argument.

Yeah, ultimately the Lakers v Clips thing is pretty simple. Excluding injuries, the Clippers have a massive advantage on the perimeter and the Lakers have a massive advantage in the frontcourt. They'll most likely trade wins all season; some nights the Clips are hot and the math (3>2) will bury the Lakers and some nights the shots won't fall and the Lakers can bully their way to wins. It will most likely all come down to the buyout market. Neither team really has any great assets left to swing a big time trade. Can the Lakers get Iggy? Or do the Clips play keep-away? Can the Clips find somebody to eat frontcourt minutes? Can the Lakers find an additional shooter? That will probably answer the question of who gets the upper hand in a potential playoff series.

Clippers over Sixers I'm not too far off from with these. The first 4 were my picks as well... MVP: Curry ROY: Ja Morant COY: Snyder 6th man: Lou Wiliams DPOY: Draymond Green - A familiar face and I think him and Curry are going to put up some crazy numbers to will Golden State to a playoff berth. I think they have a lot to prove. MIP: Jaren Jackson Jr. - I think him and Morant are about to become a young 1-2 punch for the future. My dark horse here was Lonzo Ball. Overlook the fact they are two Spartans. That was just coincidence. Boston over Clippers in Finals.

I think you're keyboard had autocorrect on with Bucks..it accidently typed Boston. If you wanted to change that lol

I think you're keyboard had autocorrect on with Bucks..it accidently typed Boston. If you wanted to change that lol It has an autocorrect changing Celti_s to morons. Nice little feature put in. I think Milwaukee is good but I think the loss of Brogdan will hurt and a lot of their bench/core players are getting old. Aging Lopez twins, Bledsoe, Kyle Korver, George Hill and Wesley Matthews. Greek freak is good enough to keep them competitive but I feel like this year they may rest him more before running him into the ground. I like what the C's did despite the fact I don't like the C's. Obviously the big name is Kemba but I like adding Kanter and the rookies they added. I think with Kyrie gone, you are going to see a better Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart. And I don't count out Ainge making a move and Brad Stevens coaching those players up. I think this may be a breakout year in terms of efficiency for Kemba.

FWIW Boston still has ample ammunition to pull off a blockbuster trade at the deadline. They own all their 1st round picks and are owed 2 from MEM/MIL. The contract matching may be tricky depending on who they pursue.
My coworker is still crossing his fingers on a Hayward + picks for Kevin Love (+ Delly as cap filler) trade. Kemba + Jaylen + Tatum + Love + Kanter..... not too shabby

Interesting debate: Is RJ Barrett a lock for All-Rookie 1st team? Currently 14.1ppg 5.0rpg 2.5apg 40fg% 32 3fg% 59.2ft% for the 19-42 Knicks
Obviously Morant is a lock.
Even if he only plays around 35 games, safe to say Zion is too.
Herro probably is as well given he is putting up 13.1ppg 4.0rpg 2.0apg 39.3 3fg% for a 39-22 Heat team
The other contenders
Eric Paschall: 13.8ppg 4.7rpg 1.9apg 49.5fg% 29.2 3fg%
Rui Hachimura: 14.1ppg 6.0rpg 1.6apg 49.4fg% 29 3fg%
Brandon Clarke: 12.0ppg 5.8rpg 1.4apg 62.3fg% 40.4 3fg%
PJ Washington: 12.0ppg 5.5rpg 2.1apg 45.6fg% 37.7 3fg% DeAndre Hunter: 12.4ppg 4.3rpg 1.8apg 41.3fg% 35.3 3fg% Coby White: 12.6ppg 3.5rpg 2.5apg 38.8fg% 35.9 3fg%
Ultimately I'd say yes even if his shooting sucks, his A/TO ratio isn't good and the Knicks are awful.

Ehhh..yea I suppose. I thought he'd be around 7.5 rebounds a game. Coby is coming on strong..but all he does is jack it up on a bad team.Clarke is the sleeper. Washington was hot for a minute but he faded a bit. Hunter has been consistent..but not anything special. damn RJ can't shoot tho.

Hunter has looked better lately 14.2ppg 7.2rpg 1.7apg 1.1spg 43.3fg% 43.1 3fg% 84.2ft% last 10 games If he can close out the season in similar fashion, he could be on that 1st team

Safe to say my Curry prediction for MVP won't happen.
I made the same call. It's Greek Freak with Lebron making the best case for an alternate choice
Ja Morant for ROY is likely but I do believe Zion will get plenty of 1st place votes despite the lack of games Quin Snyder for COY...... not a chance. If I had a vote now it'd be for Nurse. Toronto being in 2nd place with their injuries and losing Kawhi is mind-boggling.
Lou Williams for 6MOY.... still my vote but his teammate Harrell is serious competition, as is Schroder
AD for DPOY..... still my vote
D. Murray for MIP..... nope. He's improved for sure but not as much as guys like BI, Adebayo, Devonte Graham, VanVleet, Siakam, Tatum. D. Murray would be a better choice if they still had Comeback Player of the Year given he missed all last season. I can see BI winning it but my homer vote goes to Adebayo going from 8.9ppg 7.3rpg 2.2apg 0.9spg 0.8bpg 57.6fg% to 16.2ppg 10.5rpg 5.1apg 1.2spg 1.3bpg 56.5fg%. That type of solid improvement - albeit mostly due to more minutes - while maintaining the high FG% is really impressive and doing so for a 39-22 team.
Clippers over Sixers..... ehhhhh.... obviously way more iffy on the Sixers part though.

I think Ja gets it. Just a question will it be co-ROY. If he doesn't get it, it's a bad precedent.
Yeah Nick Nurse would definitely get my vote though I can see Frank Vogel getting some votes in. Even though people predicted the Lakers to be successful, he deserves credit for sustaining that success.
MIP: I'd probably give it Bam Adebayo.
DPOY: My vote of Draymond isn't happening either.
