2nd pick is available, although if trade too far back my guy wont be there 5th spot might be the best one..behind Obi (wildcard) and in middle of the rounds
I'm cool with pick 5. I see about 7 guys I'd be ok with in the "1st round" and definitely some intriguing names on the way back in "Round 2"

Boston Morons guard Kemba Walker received a stem cell injection in his left knee and is out until at least the first week of January, the team said Tuesday.
Walker received the injection after consultation with multiple specialists in early October and was put on a 12-week strengthening program. The Morons said he is expected to return to on-court activities in early December and an update on his availability to play in games will be provided in the first week of January.
EE going point guard with pick #5..will he shock the world and grab Melo for a potential keeper

So I took over a team in a 12 man dynasty. 17 roster spots, 2 round rookie slow draft. I've got Embiid, Simmons, Vucevic, Mitchell and Westbrook as my studs + a lot of crap filler on the back end to turn over.
Entered the draft with 1.5 and 2.5. Took Tyrese Haliburton at 1.5 and moved 2.5 and Kyle Lowry for 2.1 and Sekou Doumboya. Took Aleksej Pokusevski at 2.1.
Looking at some young guys in FA after the draft finishes, like Darius Bazley, Anfernee Simons, Donte DiVincenzo, Lugentz Dort and Gary Trent.
But most likely I'm staring down Cade Cunningham, Mobley or Green next year.

Awesome. I mean this Kemba news couldn't have come out like TWO days ago so I could have just kept Middleton. This is f'in Paul George all over again.

basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/1943/playersWith all the keepers set..you can look at the players available to get an idea of who's in there. I've got about 15 player starred. New guy Shaq Fu has emailed me so much about he's got me ready to get the ball rolling. I just set a random date of the 14th, but I can make it anytime you all want.

The Wizards are sending Wall and a lottery-protected 2023 first-round NBA draft pick to the Rockets for Westbrook. Hmm. No one wins..lol. Wall is going to be terrible this year. Westbrook is a definitely upgrade skill wise but he's a crappy teammate.

Didn't realize Rozier averaged 18 / 4.4 / 4.1 last year
or Jaylen Brown averaged 20 / 6.5

Julius Randle is the current posterboy for "stats on a bad team"
From his time with the Lakers to his one year with Pels and Knicks - if you exclude his rookie season where he played one game due to injury - his teams have a record of 132-262.
The guy averaged 19.5ppg 9.4rpg 3.2apg 55.5fg% in the 2nd half of his 4th season. He had to settle for 1 year MLE deal with the Pels. The guy averaged 21.4ppg 8.7rpg 3.1apg 52.4fg% and even showed some 3pt range and blocked a few shots. He had to settle for 3 year deal - with only 2 fully guaranteed - with the sad Knicks who have proven incompetent in free agency. Then the Knicks use their top pick on a guy who plays the same position after 1 year.
Randle is solid for fantasy but clearly NBA GMs don't think much of him as a player.
I'd take Rozier over him. Give me the guard who can do 18-4-4 and shoot 40% on threes.

one could argue..(and I think you'd agree) 18-4-4 on a bad team too. I agree on Randle take, I think Rozier is in line with the posterboy. I guess I just was surprised to see his stat line. I knew he had a low FG%, but curious to see how it works with him, Graham and now Melo.

I would agree for this past season but in fairness to Rozier, this past season is the only season where he put up stats on a bad team. Randle's entire career has been this scenario. So if we're talking about posterboys for stats on a bad team, I'd go with Randle and his 5 seasons versus Rozier and his 1.
The prior three seasons for Rozier excluding his limited his rookie year, he was a key rotation player on a Morons team that won 53, 55 and 49 games and made at least the 2nd round of the playoffs each year. Rozier also came up huge with Kyrie out in the 2018 playoffs where in 19 starts he averaged 16.5ppg 5.3rpg 5.7apg. Randle has played exactly 0 playoff games.
Rozier got paid by Charlotte based on what he could be as a starter and it paid off with his statline. Rozier isn't the reason the Hornets suck. If anything, he and Graham are the season they didn't suck more. Not saying Randle is the reason the Lakers, Pelicans or Knicks have sucked BUT clearly GMs don't think much of his ability to elevate their team based on the relation between his stats and contract.
I think you'd be hard-pressed to find another example of a guy with Randle's age and Randle's statline who (A) Doesn't get an extension after his 3rd year (B) Gets let go by his drafting team after the rookie contract (C) Has to sign for a 1 year MLE deal (D) Has to sign for a contract with only 2 guaranteed years (E) One year into the deal you already have your replacement drafted
Granted the Lakers scenario was more complex given they were saving 2018 cap space but that they were so OK letting him walk away plus the other three situations just spell out Randle, well, isn't good. Not saying Rozier is either and the Hornets did draft Ball but in today's NBA where perimeter skill and shooting is valued, give me the 18-4-4-40 3fg% guard over whatever Randle is. At worst Rozier is a really really solid 6th man.

I think the flashy stats starting lineup would be:
PG: Colin Sexton SG: Zach Lavine SF: Andrew Wiggins PF: Julius Randle C: Andre Drummond
Does anyone really look at this lineup and think, despite their individual stats, "Yeah, that looks like a great idea!"?

I got you with 3 out of 5
I'll go with Fournier at SG Whiteside at C Rozier as 6th man
Sexton Fournier Wiggins Randle Whiteside Rozier
I'd go to war with those 6 lol

I'd have LaVine well above Fournier in this context.
LaVine's stats are way gaudier and he has ZERO playoff appearances to show for it.
3 years with MIN: 76-170 3 years with CHI: 71-158 That's just awful And the irony is the Wolves made the playoffs the year after LaVine left and the Bulls made the playoffs the year before LaVine arrived
I don't think anyone looks at Fournier and thinks he is anything more than your typical Euro-dude who can shoot, handle the ball a bit and won't do much on defense. He's also made the playoffs 3 times, including the last 2 seasons. LaVine is paid and acts like he is "the guy".

Yea no doubt he's got stats on bad teams his whole career. I think he's pretty good, seems to have a good work ethic. I ain't gonna argue with it, because his stats are empty as they've done nothing. But I think he'd still produce solid on a good team.
and yes for sure..he does think he's "that guy"

I mean, all these guys are good. Even on crappy teams, it's hard to put up stats. I'd take LaVine on the Lakers as the 3rd banana. If he is your #1 banana though, well, just ask the Bulls how that has turned out.
